The UK Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has seized hundreds of fake Ozempic and Saxenda pens sold through online marketplaces and social media. These unauthorised sources are the primary channels for counterfeit pens, which are not only illegal but dangerous. Legitimate pens require a prescription and must be purchased from licensed healthcare providers.
2. Packaging Quality
One of the key ways to identify a fake pen is by examining the packaging. Genuine pens will have high-quality packaging with clear labels and precise information. Counterfeit versions often have poorly printed or faded labels, and packaging that doesn’t match official branding. Look out for:
